Q: What's in the Skin-Dex kit?

A: Skin-Dex consists of two boxes each containing 42 color swatches for a total of 84 swatches. Each swatch has a number on the back for recording purposes. In the kit, you will receive swatches, a camera, and two new forms, one to record skin color and the other for nail color. The nail color form has instructions for photographing your patient's sound and affected limbs.

Q: How accurate is color matching using Skin-Dex?

A: We've already had tremendous success using Skin-Dex in conjunction with photographs for color matching. As always, we recommend sending your patient to one of our Premier Service Centers to meet with our painters for a face-to-face color matching session. However, when travel is not possible, Skin-Dex is a great alternative to enhance long distance color matching accuracy.

Q: How do I order a Skin-Dex?

A: Once you have authorization for a prosthesis, call our office for an impression kit with Skin-Dex. We will fax you a Skin-Dex Agreement and ask you to sign this form and return it. Once we have the agreement back, we will send out Skin-Dex with the impression material by Second Day Air. Usually we ship impressions kits on Tuesdays, but we can ship them the same day they are ordered when possible. Please note, if you need a kit shipped over-night, we will require your shipping account or bill you for the Next Day shipping expense. All second day shipping expenses are included in the cost of the prosthesis.

Q: Why do I need to sign an agreement to receive a Skin-Dex?

A: As part of our commitment to you and your fellow practitioners, we require a signed agreement before shipping Skin-Dex to your facility. This agreement helps us to maintain the flow of Skin-Dexes in and out of our facility, ensuring we always have one to send when you call.
